Sports Update: Volleyball Posts Sweep

The Virginia Peninsula Community College volleyball team earned its third win of the season and second consecutive with a sweep of host Rockingham Community College on Saturday, Oct.12. The scores were 25-17, 25-19, 25-17.

However, the Gators’ winning streak ended with a three-set loss later in the day to Caldwell Community College. The scores of that match, which also was held at Rockingham Community College, were 25-11, 25-12, 25-15.

Soccer

The Gators dropped two matches last week, both at the McReynolds Athletic Complex in Yorktown. The first loss was 13-1 to Wake Tech on Monday, Oct. 7, with the Gators’ lone goal coming from Dieumerci Anania.

After a scrimmage at Regent on Wednesday, Oct. 9, was rained out, VPCC returned to action Saturday, Oct. 12, and lost 7-0 to Patrick & Henry Community College.
